What you Missed this Week
Hardware! We do not see many articles about this topic.
Here is one where they achieved exceptional speed on a local LLM [Link / HN] The path to ubiquitous AI (17k tokens/sec).
I think that hardware optimization is still a bit early, but this article shows that high speed without cloud GPUs is achievable.
The best article I found about the future of AI is this one: The Future of AI Software Development which includes a PDF discussing the main “relevant topics” around AI. Give it a look.
This week also saw press article about AI-enhanced productivity with no “major improvement”, far from the 30% claimed by some firms (HN - 1, HN - 2, HN - 3). The gains are more likely in the 3‑5 % range. Note that, as research takes time, it may not yet account for newer agentic coding tools. A second note: the measurements are not limited to developers but cover the overall population.
Another pool of blog posts around AI “vibe‑coded” projects:
- On HN you can read this post about Show‑HN statistics (Is Show HN dead? No, but it’s drowning), which says “more Show HN, less interest.”
- People discuss in several articles that when you do vibe coding you only skim the surface and don’t go deeper, so you can’t address the technical complexity (AI makes you boring).
- Since everyone has the same build‑power subscription, the same apps keep being released. Making something that stands out isn’t easier thanks to AI (The only moat left is money?).
“Claw” enters the new AI vocabulary (HN):
AI agents that generally run on personal hardware, communicate via messaging protocols, and can both act on direct instructions and schedule tasks.
